De Westkust dagtrips zijn minder bekend dan de dagtrips naar Klein Curaçao. En dat vinden wij eigenlijk onterecht. De Westkust trips zijn echt leuk, volgens velen leuker dan Klein Curaçao. Waarom?
1. You see more of Curaçao
With a day trip to Klein Curaçao you only see the island of Klein Curaçao. In itself certainly nice to see, but otherwise you see nothing of Curaçao itself that day. If you join a West Coast trip, you can enjoy the rugged nature along the coast of Curaçao all day long, interspersed with beautiful beaches and bays. In addition, you will make some swimming stops on a West Coast trip, for which the captain selects the most beautiful spots on Curaçao. And each of those spots has something unique about it that makes it different from the other locations you will see during this trip. In short: you will see more of beautiful Curaçao!
2. More variety throughout the day
Ga je naar Klein Curaçao, dan is de dag eigenlijk in drie delen te hakken: de heenreis, een paar uur op Klein Curaçao en dan als weer de terugreis. Ga je mee met een Westkust trip, dan is de dag veel gevarieerder, door de zwemstops onderweg. Heel de dag vaar je een stukje waarbij je lekker kunt relaxen op de boot in het zonnetje, genietend van een drankje en het uitzicht. Dan is er weer een zwemstop, dan weer een stukje varen, etc. En zo kabbelt de dag heel relaxed naar het einde waarbij je je geen moment zult vervelen omdat zo’n beetje elk half uur weer anders is dan het half uur ervoor.
3. On the boat
If you take a catamaran to Klein Curaçao, you will not have any facilities at your disposal. The bar or lunch, toilets, a nice music in the background when you are relaxing in the sun: you have to be on the boat for it. For example, if you want to lay in the sun on the beach of Klein Curaçao and have a drink with it, you have to swim 20 meters to the boat.
You don’t have that problem on a West Coast trip, because you are and stay on the boat all day. You have all the facilities just nice and easy right around you. When you are lying in the sun, your partner can quickly and easily get you a cool drink at the bar. Maximum enjoyment!
4. No chance of seasickness
For some people this is a reason not to go to Klein Curaçao: in the morning on the way there you always have to go against the current, and if the current is too strong you always have some guests on board who get seasick. Once you are on Klein Curaçao it will quickly pass and you will not be bothered by it for the rest of the day, including the return trip, but still it is annoying to have to start the day sick like that (read here the tips to minimize the chance of seasickness).
With several West Coast trips you do not have this problem. In the morning (the way out towards Westpoint) you sail with the current, so the boat hardly rocks and you won’t suffer from seasickness. For the return trip, some trips have a nice solution so you don’t have to sail against the current: all guests take a bus back to town. So you have no chance of seasickness and as a bonus you also have a nice bus tour of the western part of Curaçao.
Return by bus is not included in all trips. This is included in the trips ‘Tugboat & Blue Room’ and‘Beaches, BBQ & Blue Room‘.
If you go on the Powerboat, you will not suffer from seasickness, even when sailing against the current. Because of the shape and speed of the boat, 99.5% of you will not suffer from seasickness. This applies to both the Powerboat trip to Westpunt as well as the Powerboat trip to Klein Curaçao.

Don’t wait too long to book your West Coast trip. The supply is more limited than the day trips to Klein Curaçao, so it’s more likely that you won’t be able to find a spot if you want to book only shortly in advance.
