Fuik Day 2027 Curaçao

Fuik Day is always on the first Sunday in January. Unless that Sunday falls on January 1, in which case it is held a week later. So for 2027, it will be on Sunday, January 3, 2027.

Fuik Day is always held in Fuikbaai. A beautiful bay on the east side of Curaçao. Fuikbaai is located on private property and is accessible only by sea. This means it’s not possible to get to Fuik Day by car, bike, public transportation, on foot, or any other means besides by boat. You can really only get there by water.

Fuik Day itself (the festival) is actually free. You only pay for a boat ticket to get there. And any boat that wants to can sail right into Fuikbaai and join in on Fuik Day. On most boats, you’re also allowed to bring your own food and drinks, or food and drinks are already included with your ticket. And don’t forget to bring a float to stay afloat—you won’t be able to keep treading water for a few hours.

If you purchased individual tickets for Fuik Day 2027 through NaarCuracao, you can still cancel them through November 30, 2026, for a US$ 35 administrative fee per ticket. Starting December 1, 2026, cancellations will no longer be possible, and you will forfeit the entire payment. However, you can still sell your ticket yourself, and you can have the name on your ticket changed through December 24, 2026.
Starting December 25, 2026, it will no longer be possible to make changes or cancel your ticket for Fuik Day 2027.

No, that’s not possible. Fuik Day is a festival on the water in Fuikbaai. That bay is located on private property that outsiders can’t just walk onto. The only way to access Fuikbaai (and thus Fuik Day) is by sea.
And just to be clear: You can’t swim there or just float around on an air mattress. You can only get to Fuik Day if you’ve arranged a spot on a boat.

Don’t worry too much about what time your boat leaves in the morning. The party in Fuikbaai will really get going around 12:30 p.m.—even on the boats that leave hours earlier. Of course, there’s already a festive and lively atmosphere in the morning, but most DJs won’t start spinning until the afternoon.
At 5:00 PM, the music stops and the party is more or less over.
Make sure you’re back at your boat on time—most boats won’t wait very long for stragglers!

You can try, but the chances are pretty slim. The boats usually have full payment arranged well in advance, so if people have paid €275 per person or more for a ticket, there would have to be a very serious reason for them not to show up—and for a spot to still open up for you.

No, that’s not possible. There are no food trucks, bars, etc., at Fuik Day. You can’t buy anything there; you’ll have to rely entirely on the catering provided by your boat or what you bring yourself. And don’t forget to bring your own sunscreen, a float, etc.

Fuikbaai is large enough, but it’s not infinitely large—and, most importantly, it’s not infinitely deep. The larger boats leave earlier in the day because it’s a bit harder for them to maneuver in the bay to get to the right spot, side-by-side with the other (large) boats. And if they arrive too late, they won’t be able to get to the right spot in the bay anyway.
For the smaller boats, it’s simpler. They’re easier to “park” somewhere, so they don’t have to leave quite as early.

Oh, no! It’s not very smart of you to come back to the boat so late…
Try to catch a ride back on another boat. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to swim to shore and walk back. And that’s at least a good hour’s walk in the Curaçao heat, probably after having had quite a few drinks and with a float under your arm… Good luck!
So…. be sensible—it’s better to be back at the boat 5 minutes early than 1 minute late.
