Fuik Day 2027 (Fuikdag) takes place on Sunday, January 3, 2027, in Fuik Bay on the east side of Curaçao. It’s the island’s biggest boat party: hundreds of boats anchor side by side, DJs play from the large boats and everyone floats from boat to boat on inflatables. Fuik Bay can only be reached by water, so you always need a spot on a boat. Visiting Curaçao over the holidays? What is Fuik Day?
Fuik Day (Fuikdag in Dutch, Dia di Fuik in Papiamentu) is an annual Curaçao tradition to kick off the new year. On the first Sunday of January, hundreds of boats head to Fuik Bay. There’s no stage or festival grounds: the whole party happens on and around the boats. You jump into the turquoise water with your float, find your favorite DJ and drift from party to party. For many visitors it’s the highlight of a Caribbean winter getaway.

What to expect on Fuik Day 2027: the schedule
Exact departure times depend on your boat, but a typical Fuik Day looks like this:
- Morning – check-in: meet your boat. Bring everything you need; you can’t buy anything in Fuik Bay.
- About 30 minutes sailing: depending on the boat, you’ll reach Fuik Bay in about half an hour. The party has often already started here and there.
- From around noon – the party kicks off: jump in with your float and drift over to the boat where your favorite DJ is playing.
- In between: head back to your own boat for a drink or a bite. Our trips include alcoholic drinks and (on most boats) lunch.
- Around 4:30 PM – back to your boat: the music gets quieter and it’s time to check in for the ride back.
- 5:00 PM – the end: the music stops everywhere. Most boats are back in the harbor around 5:30 PM.

The party itself is free; you pay for a spot on a boat. A single ticket on the big catamaran through NaarCuracao costs €290 per person (prices are in euros), including open bar and BBQ snacks. You only pay a €50 deposit per person when booking. For groups, a private boat is a great option. Don’t forget a float: you won’t manage hours of treading water.
Can I book Fuik Day tickets from the USA?
Yes. You book your ticket or private boat online through NaarCuracao before your trip and pay only a deposit up front. We’ll contact you afterwards to put the tickets in your name, and you can reach us easily via WhatsApp, in English.
Can I cancel my Fuik Day 2027 booking?
Single tickets bought through NaarCuracao can be canceled until November 30, 2026, for a €25 fee per ticket. From December 1, 2026, cancellation is no longer possible and the full payment is non-refundable. You can still resell your ticket: the name can be changed until December 24, 2026. From December 25, 2026, no changes or cancellations are possible.
Can I get to Fuik Day by car?
No. Fuik Day is a party on the water in Fuik Bay, which borders private land. The only access is by sea. Swimming or paddling out from shore isn’t an option either: you need a spot on a boat.
What time does Fuik Day 2027 start and end?
The party in Fuik Bay kicks off around 12:00–12:30 PM, even for boats that leave hours earlier. Most DJs start in the afternoon. The music stops at 5:00 PM. Make sure you’re back on your boat on time: most boats don’t wait long for latecomers.
Can I still find a boat on the morning of Fuik Day?
You can try, but the chances are slim. Boats are usually fully booked and paid well in advance. If you want a guaranteed spot during your vacation, book ahead.
Can I buy food and drinks at Fuik Day?
No. There are no food trucks, bars or shops in Fuik Bay. You rely entirely on your boat’s catering and what you bring yourself, so also bring sunscreen, a float and other essentials.
Why do some boats leave early and others later?
Fuik Bay is big, but not endless, and not very deep. Large boats leave earlier because they’re harder to maneuver and need to anchor side by side with the other big boats in time. Smaller boats can ‘park’ more easily, so they don’t need to leave as early.
I was late and my boat already left. What now?
Oops! Try to catch a ride back on another boat. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to swim to shore and walk back: well over an hour in the Curaçao heat with a float under your arm. So be 5 minutes early rather than 1 minute late.
Is Fuik Day suitable for kids?
