Fuik Day 2027 Curaçao

Fuik Day is always on the first Sunday in January. Unless that Sunday falls on January 1, in which case it is held a week later. So for 2027, it will be on Sunday, January 3, 2027.

Fuik Day is always held in Fuikbaai. A beautiful bay on the east side of Curaçao. Fuikbaai is located on private property and is accessible only by sea. So it’s not possible to get to Fuik Day by car, bike, public transportation, on foot, or any other way besides by boat. You can really only get there by water.

Fuik Day itself (the festival) is actually free. You only pay for a boat ticket to get there. And any boat that wants to can sail right into Fuikbaai and join in on Fuik Day. On most boats, you’re also allowed to bring your own food and drinks, or food and drinks are already included with your ticket. And don’t forget to bring a float to stay afloat—you won’t be able to keep treading water for a few hours.

If you purchased individual tickets for Fuik Day 2027 through NaarCuracao, you can still cancel them through November 30, 2026, for a EUR 25 administrative fee per ticket. Starting December 1, 2026, cancellations will no longer be possible, and you will forfeit the entire payment. However, you can still sell your ticket yourself, and you can have the name on your ticket changed through December 24, 2026.
As of December 25, 2026, changes or cancellations for Fuik Day 2027 will no longer be possible.

No, that’s not possible. Fuik Day is a festival on the water in Fuikbaai. That bay is located on private property that outsiders can’t just walk onto. The only way to get to Fuikbaai (and thus Fuik Day) is by sea.
And just to be clear: You can’t swim there or just float over on an air mattress. You can only get to Fuik Day if you’ve arranged a spot on a boat.

In doing so, don’t focus too much on the time your boat leaves in the morning. The party in Fuik Bay will erupt around 12:30 PM. Also on the boats that leave hours earlier. Of course it will be a party and fun in the morning hours as well, but most DJs will only play Jay in the afternoon.
At 5:00 PM the music goes off and the party is more or less over.
Make sure you get back to your boat on time, most boats don’t wait that long for stragglers!

You can try, but the chances are pretty slim. The boats have usually arranged full payment (well) in advance, so if people have paid US$ 310 p.p. or more for a ticket then there must be a very serious reason that they won’t show up and thus still offer a spot for you.

No, that’s not possible. There are no food trucks, bars, etc., at Fuik Day. You can’t buy anything there; you’ll have to rely entirely on the catering provided by your boat or what you bring yourself. And don’t forget to bring your own sunscreen, a floatie, etc.

Fuik Bay is big enough, but again, not unlimited in size and most importantly, not unlimited in depth. The big boats leave earlier in the day because it is more difficult for them to maneuver in the bay to get to the right place, side-by-side with the other (big) boats. And if they arrive too late, they won’t be able to get to the right place in the bay anyway.
For the smaller boats it is easier. They are easier to “park” somewhere and therefore do not have to leave so early.

Oh, no! That’s not very convenient of you to get back to the boat late….
Try to catch a ride back on another boat. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to swim to shore and walk back. And that’s at least a good hour’s walk in the Curaçao heat, probably after having had quite a few drinks and with a float under your arm… Good luck!
So…. be wise and rather be back at the boat 5 minutes early than 1 minute late.
