This webcam is mounted on Brionplein (Otrobanda), with a great view of Curaçao’s iconic landmarks: the colorful buildings of the Handelskade and the Pontjesbrug (Queen Emma Bridge). The camera pans from left to right, so you actually see all of St. Anna Bay, from Rif Fort to the Juliana Bridge. With a bit of luck you’ll see the bridge swing open for a ship.

Since February 2024, a webcam has stood on the tip of the LionsDive Beach Resort grounds, with a great view of Mambo Beach. The best-known webcam in Curaçao belongs to LionsDive Beach Resort. The camera switches every 20 seconds between three views: the beach, a view over Willemstad and the pool. At the pool you’ll see a few tall palm trees, so you also get an instant idea of how hard the wind is blowing in Curaçao.

A fairly new webcam is at Royal Sea Aquarium Resort, near Mambo. The resort put the camera in a good spot: you get a nice view of the well-known LionsDive beach, and in the distance you can even see the city.

At Avila Beach Hotel the webcam switches every 30 seconds between three views: the beach, Blues Bar & Restaurant on the pier, and the sea toward Willemstad and the cruise terminal. The images are high quality, so you get a beautiful, up-to-date picture of Curaçao.

Klein Curaçao webcam (Mermaid)
A boat trip to Klein Curaçao is the highlight of the vacation for many people. Through this webcam you can look back (or ahead, if you haven’t done the trip yet) at that gorgeous beach. From Mermaid’s well-known lookout tower you see the beach and the boats anchored just off the shore. Because you can rewind 12 hours, you can still catch the previous evening’s sunset the next morning.

Wilhelminaplein webcam
One of the most touristy spots in Curaçao: Wilhelminaplein (Wilhelmina Square) in Punda. The name may not ring a bell, but you’ll surely recognize the big ‘CURAÇAO’ letters the webcam points at. Lots of people search for a Jan Thiel webcam, but there is currently no webcam at Jan Thiel. In the past, two or three small accommodations had a camera on their roof, but those streams no longer exist. The closest are the webcams at Santa Barbara Beach (on the other side of Spanish Water) and Mambo Beach.

Webcam, live cam or live stream: what’s the difference?
You’ll come across all these words, but in Curaçao they mean almost the same thing. A webcam is the camera mounted in a fixed spot. A live stream is how you watch: a continuous video, usually on YouTube. The advantage of a live stream is that you can rewind up to 12 hours. A few webcams, such as those of LionsDive and Avila Beach Hotel, are on the hotel’s own website and switch between several views every 20 or 30 seconds.
Tips: getting the most out of the webcams
Mind the time zone
Curaçao is on Atlantic Standard Time (UTC−4) and doesn’t use daylight saving time. In summer it’s the same time as New York; in winter Curaçao is one hour ahead of the East Coast. The sun sets in Curaçao between about 6:15 and 7 pm all year round. Missed it? With the rewind function you can still catch that sunset later.
What to look for
- The weather: a rain shower in Curaçao is usually short. See gray skies? Check again half an hour later.
- The wind: the palm trees at the LionsDive pool show how hard the trade wind is blowing.
- The crowds: the Mambo Beach webcam shows whether the beach is packed, handy for an afternoon at the beach or a happy hour.
