At Sea Aquarium Park, there is a large tube that goes into the ground. Below ground, the tube goes to a depth of about 3 ft. (7 mtr.) and you can see what is happening underwater through a large window.

What is the Ocean Lens

The Ocean Lens is easiest to explain as “a vantage point, 23 ft. (7 mtr.) deep in the sea.” The Ocean Lens was developed by Sea Aquarium itself, as an alternative for people who like to look underwater, but don’t feel like taking a diving course or the like.

You go down a ladder to one of those 23 ft. (7 mtr.) depth, after which you are actually in “the Lens” right away. You can walk forward a few meters and lie on the mattress (2 people at a time). And then you see one beautiful fish after another! While you view the underwater world, in the background the guide* will tell you all about the fish you see.
To best get all kinds of fish in front of the Lens, a bucket of fish food will be hung in the water. So you have 100% certainty of seeing all kinds of beautiful tropical fish.
The Ocean Lens is for persons 8 yr. and older and accessible to anyone who can independently climb up and down a ladder.

Sneak Peek – 15 min.

You spend 15 minutes in the Ocean Lens and get all kinds of explanations about the marine life on display.
This does not include admission to Sea Aquarium Park.

Full Tour – 90 min.

The Full Tour lasts 90 minutes. You get an exclusive tour “behind the scenes” of Sea Aquarium. Among other things, you will hear and see about the unique open-water system, what is being done to restore the coral and what new species have been discovered here in the sea. Next, you may spend half an hour in the Ocean Lens for a beautiful view of the sea.
The Full Tour does include admission to Sea Aquarium Park.

Who may be in the Ocean Lens

The Ocean Lens is open to anyone 8 years and older and a height of at least 4’3″ (1,3 mtr.). You must be able to independently climb a 23 ft. (7 mtr.) ladder. to climb. You are not permitted to descend into the Ocean Lens if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Should you be taking medication that may (temporarily) affect your physical or mental state, you are not allowed to do the Ocean Lens.
There can be 6 visitors in the Ocean Lens at the same time; up to 2 people can lie on the mattresses at the same time, chairs are provided for the remaining people.

The Ocean Lens is one of Sea Aquariums activities at Mambo Beach.

The tour is conducted by Curacao Sea Aquarium. If you book this tour then you enter into the agreement with them; Curacao Sea Aquarium is the responsible party for the execution and quality of the tour.
