Discover Curacao in a playful way? Rack your brains, solve the puzzles and learn about Curacao while the assignments lead you through Otrobanda or Punda. That’s the Escape Game!

No doubt you know the well-known Escape Rooms where you have to escape from a room within a short time by solving puzzles and riddles, working together with your teammates. On Curacao you can play an outdoor version where you don’t have to escape from a room, but from one of the neighborhoods, Otrobanda or Punda. Compete against other teams to set the fastest time.

Handy to know:
You play the Escape Game on your phone, but you don’t need the Internet while playing.

With the code you receive from us, you can launch the game on your phone. You can do that any time you want. So you can purchase it already and only activate it to play in a few weeks.

The Escape Game can already be played on your own, but we would recommend playing with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 people. That way you can join forces, but still remain challenging. The Escape Game is fun for all ages, young and old. Because you really have to think about the assignments there is an advisory age of minimum 7 years for Otrobanda and 12 years in Punda. In addition, we recommend that at least 1 adult always accompany you. Visually impaired or wheelchair dependent? Then we advise you to choose the Escape Game Punda, here everything is at ground level. There are also stairs in the game in Otrobanda.

You can play the Escape Game 7 days a week, at any time. After all, you don’t have to go anywhere. However, we do recommend doing the Escape Game in the morning or a little later in the afternoon because of the heat. TIP: Bring a bottle of water, put on lotion, sunglasses or a cap.

Each group is given 2 hours to complete the Escape Game. Punda takes an average of 1.5 to 2 hours and Otrobanda 1 to 1.5 hours.

What does the Escape Game look like?

You can choose; explore the Otrobanda district or cross the Pontjes Bridge and choose Punda. You have chosen to escape from Otrobanda. You download the app Escape Games Caribbean, receive the email with the code and enter it on the Wi-Fi at home or at the hotel. Click start. At the starting point (mentioned in the app), you will receive the first assignment.

You play the Escape Game on one phone. During the game you get information about the island and the neighborhood. You must answer each puzzle and task correctly to pass. Hints can be requested so you can always finish the Escape Game. Goal: within 2 hours “escape” from the neighborhood where you play the game. Between missions, you will be shown directions and a map to walk to the next mission. Because of this, you don’t have to close the app, nor do you need internet. Some tasks are more difficult than others, they call on your math skills and creativity, and sometimes you just have to look very carefully.

While walking to the next task, you can explore the neighborhood. Attractions like the Riffort, the pontoon bridge and Kura Hulanda all pass by when you play the Escape Game in Otrobanda. In addition, Otrobanda is known for its beautiful murals and graffiti. The neighborhood is on the rise, so it’s fun to discover streets and works of art that you wouldn’t normally encounter so quickly. You’ll also come across places for the perfect vacation photo, with nice views of Curacao’s skyline and with fun souvenirs. The Escape Game is a playful way to get to know the neighborhood, learn a bit about Curacao’s history and get your brain cracking. And, not entirely important, it’s your chance to be the fastest group to escape from Otrobanda. Of course, you’ll be going for the win.
