Off-road on Curaçao: buggy, ATV and jeep safaris
Going off-road is one of the most fun things to do on Curaçao. Over dirt tracks, along the rugged north coast and to places you can’t reach in a rental car. Would you rather drive a buggy or ATV yourself, or be driven by a guide in a jeep or safari truck? On this page you’ll find all the off-road tours you can book with us, with prices and the differences.

On these tours you’re behind the wheel yourself, with a guide leading the way. Drivers need a valid driver’s license (at least 21 for the buggies, at least 18 for the ATV).

Tips for an off-road tour on Curaçao
- Closed-toe shoes: mandatory for the ATV, and handy everywhere on rocky tracks and in caves.
- Bring your driver’s license if you drive yourself: the original license, not a copy.
- Dust and wind: bring sunglasses and take your cap off while driving. On the buggy tour you get dust goggles and a bandana.
- Sunscreen and water: you’ll spend much of the time in the sun.
- Clothes that can get dirty: after a tour through sand and mud, your clothes will show it.
- Pregnant or back or neck problems? Then these tours aren’t suitable, because the ride is very bumpy.

What is the best off-road tour on Curaçao?
That depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to drive yourself, choose the UTV tour, the buggy tour or the ATV tour. If you’d rather be driven and go swimming along the way, choose one of the jeep safaris or the Sunrise Safari.
Can I drive a buggy or ATV myself on Curaçao?
Yes. On the UTV tour west coast and the buggy tour you drive a buggy yourself; drivers must be at least 21 and have a valid driver’s license. On the ATV tour, drivers must be at least 18.
Which off-road tours are suitable for kids?
The island tour Nature, culture & beach and the jeep safari West & Beach are suitable from age 5, the jeep safari East & Snorkel from age 6. Young children can also join the private tour and the Sunrise Safari.
Will I be picked up for an off-road tour?
On the UTV tour and the three jeep safaris you’re picked up for free from most larger accommodations. The private tour has a set pickup point; for the buggy tour and the Sunrise Safari you drive to the starting point yourself, and for the ATV tour you can add pickup.
How long does an off-road tour on Curaçao take?
The buggy and ATV tours take about 3 hours, the UTV tour about 4 hours. The jeep safaris take 4 to 7 hours, the private tour about 5 hours and the Sunrise Safari about 5.5 hours.
